Silk Scarves

The narrative
These beautiful scarves evoke mid 18th and early 19th century visuals, objects and people of this period.  On closer inspection the scarves become storytellers of a bygone era, containing hidden imagery and text.

Each design begins with a hand drawn image, which is then embroidered for depth and finally scanned into Illustrator and reworked.  The colour palette is utilized and effects added before finalising the design.

A feast for the eyes is created using wool voile, velvet, silk, or chiffon.
